We are honoured to invite you to the 3rd Central and Eastern European Conference on Physical Chemistry & Materials Science (CEEC-PCMS3) and 35th Symposium “Eugen Segal” of the Commission for Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry of the Romanian Academy (CATCAR35), which will be held from 14 to 17 October 2026 in Bucharest, the capital of Romania.

The first Central and Eastern European Conference on Physical Chemistry & Materials Science was held in 2022 in Split (Croatia), followed by the second meeting in 2024 in Kaunas (Lithuania), while the Symposium “Eugen Segal” of the Commission for Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry of the Romanian Academy has a long tradition and was held always in Romania.

We are honoured to host the joint conference CEEC-PCMS3 & CATCAR35, in the beautiful city of Bucharest. Bucharest has the flavour of Belle Époque, and has earned the its “Little Paris” nickname through elegant boulevards and the iconic Arch of Triumph. The architecture is definitely eclectic, blending the French Academic (Beaux-Arts) architecture with the “Brâncovenesc” style, the Romanian Neoclassic, Art Deco and last but not least with and Brutalist landmarks. Of these, the “Brâncovenesc” style is a unique synthesis of Byzantine, Ottoman, and Late Italian Renaissance elements, often called the Romanian Renaissance. The city’s cultural heritage shines through the Romanian Athenaeum and world-class museums, mixing deep Orthodox traditions with a modern European pulse. Its history spans from the ruins of the Old Princely Court to the monumental Palace of the Parliament, the world’s second-largest administrative building.

CEEC-PCMS3 & CATCAR35 will offer an outstanding environment for scientific interaction, focusing on physical chemistry, materials science and thermal sciences. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in plenary and invited lectures, poster presentations, workshops, exhibitions by leading instrumentation companies and various social events.
